Also watched my first anime, Akira, which was really good, and most of Clockwork Orange, also good but weird to watch at 2 in the morning following the anime. All the Halo got ( Read more... )

I think starving her to death makes it a lot less dignified.

Well, because of the drugs she's on she doesn't feel a thing. It's actually very painless and happens to a lot of people. (for example, my aunt)

it isnt an issue of death and being afraid. I will tell you what it is. It is this adminstrations attemp to reach its base after the Marriage admendment was shot down and the social sercurity reform isnt going to happen. Not to meantion that the media is playing right into Their hands. Americans dont care about terri, What they care about is that everyone else in America thinks they care about terri. It is a sad thing when the supreme court ruled in the 1980s that the termination of life support of a family member falls on the Husban or wife, then the grown children and last the parents. That is the order, and the republicans (who just recently cried foul, or judical activism, during the whole gay right fiasco of the election months) are now supporting judges who agree with them. They cant have it both ways ( ... )

When the husband abandons his invailid wife to live with another woman and has two children with that woman but won't divorce the poor woman laying in this state because she has a big life insurance policy in which he is the benificiary... the decision should not be left up to him. Clearly, this man has no morals or knows no sense of justice much less right and wrong. Don't be so blind as to think that the media has fairly given ALL sides of this story, they haven't.

The man obviously doesn't care about money. He got a great big lawsuit from the hospital that did this to her and has spent it all, along with 15 years of his life, trying his best to help her.

Not only is court cost going to drain all the asset from the insurance company. Not only has Hospice cost an arm and a leg (for sixteen years, my younger borther is that age.) He also went to school to become a nurse so that he can be with her. Seven extra years of school to be with the one you love ( ... )

She isn't brain dead, and she is aware of her surroundings. Why does the world have to be so insensitive to one family who doesn't want their daughter to die by starving to death?

It's painless, don't think of it like that. I think she is brain dead and the world isn't being insensitive. Wanting her to move on is one of the best possible things that can happen to her.

What about the children in third world countries who starve to death every day, do you not believe they endure pain?

First, she is brain dead. That is what a presectant veggie state means. It means she is brain dead ( ... )
