So I guess we finally have some sort of campaign going against consolidation with the Porter County Library system.
We have little yellow handouts that are encouraging people to submit comments to the commission and Mitch Daniels at either:
HERE or email them at lgreform@iu.edu
or
mail:

However, because of the area that WPL is in, its got quite a bit of money from the local tax payers, schools, businesses, and what not. If we consolidate we have to spread it around, plus there would the cost to switch over all our books, movies, and computer system to their system.
This would most likely mean the end of a lot of programs like the summer reading program, movies in the park, the high schooler music and reading cafe, the class for old people trying to figure out the internet, and other stuff we do. Also Hageman the Porter library would probably close. Plus we wouldn't get new movies and books as much or as quickly as we do.
And.. we would have to follow the Porter County Rules which means shorter hours and higher fines.
So yeah we are trying to prevent this....cuz overall it would suck for us and anyone who goes to our library.
Hopefully that is helpful. I probably should have included that kind of information with the entry
