Hisoka and Illumi (Ages 17 and 13)

Hisoka's stupid sticky bungee gum was making it's way into Illumi's dreams. The very first time, it had been only a month after Illumi's thirteenth birthday. It was a dark and blurry thing, the dream, and Illumi was trapped once again by Hisoka's gum, tied up around the wrists and the ankles and around his middle. He couldn't move. He had thought ( Read more... )

Milluki ran down the hallway as fast as he could. It was barely six in the morning, but he was crying. Both Papa and Mama were being so mean to him! Even Mama! She never was mean to him! So he had nowhere left to turn!

He made it to Illumi's wing of the mansion and finally to his bedroom. Milluki didn't bother knocking on the door-- Illumi would definitely be asleep still, but he didn't care.

"Illu-nii!" Milluki cried, pouncing on Illumi's bed and grabbing onto his shoulder. Of course, Illumi was a good assassin and woke up immediately, thank god!

"Illu-nii, Mama and Papa are making me go to Heaven's Arena," he sobbed. He didn't want to go! Why would they make him?! He did his training at home, he didn't want to leave!

Illumi jumped when his door opened and his little brother came running in, right onto his bed, right next to him. He was startled but it hardly showed on his face. Heat rose to his face in embarrassment even if Milluki hadn't noticed the mess he had made in his sleep.

"Ah, Milluki, please." Illumi started, sitting up and bunching up the rest of his sheets around his lap. He picked his chunky little brother up from under the arms easily, despite the size difference in the two, and put him back standing next to his bed instead of sitting in it with him.

Finally he went to address his distressed brother, "What is the problem? You do not wish to fight at the Heaven's Arena?" Illumi was very good at his role of big brother. He was proud of his place as eldest child, role model to his baby brothers, and as heir of the family. For now. "The Heaven's Arena is an interesting place, with many good fighters. Though, none as strong as yourself. You are a Zolyck, Milluki, you will have no problem rising to the top. What is it you fear?"

Milluki balled up his hands and scrunched up his face.

"I'm not scared!" he nearly yelled. That was ridiculous! He was a Zoldyck, yeah, so why should he have to go prove himself with a bunch of smelly other people who were beneath them?

"I don't like to leave home," he whined. His video games were here, and what if Papa let the baby touch Milluki's toys!? He didn't want to share them! He didn't even like fighting, it was boring! Killing was one thing, but he liked to do it from long distance, he didn't like doing all that hand to hand stuff.

"I don't want to go! Even Mama is making me go! Can you tell them to change their mind?" They always listened to Illumi! They never listened to him!

Illumi frowned a little at Milluki's yelling, but he didn't say anything, just let his brother vent. Even if the volume was uncalled for ( ... )

They took a private airship to Janah, and Milluki sulked the entire way. He brought a handheld gaming system and sat in a private room, playing a fighting game the entire way. He hardly remembered getting on the airship at all, but he supposed he had been throwing a bit of a fit. He didn't feel bad though! They shouldn't have made him go!

When the airship started to descend, Milluki sniffled again, and Illumi came into his room to collect him. He didn't throw another fit. He was already here, and it seemed like they were really going to make him go fight.

They exited the airship, but Illumi was still with him. Father had wanted to send him alone, but if Illumi was going to stay with him, maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

The area around the tower was super gaudy, with billboards and advertisements for fighting everywhere. It was kind of like a fighting game, but when it was real people doing it, it was way less interesting!

"Where do I have to go?" Milluki asked, very put out by all of this.
