How's it feel that Facebook has totally replaced you?

Facebook Replacement awhitsel September 18 2011, 04:32:39 UTC
I like Facebook. But I also enjoy livejournal. On facebook, you cannot really post what you're thinking because too many friends and family will read what you don't want them to, or people get into arguments over what you do post. On here, its a smaller "community" and can be controlled. After all, they are my thoughts. I don't think Facebook replaced anything. Its just a shorter means of explaining yourself. :)

One word: Neglected.

I haven't been a Facebook person in the first place.

A good handful of RL friends actively prefer LJ to FB. Others jumped off FB and over to G+, then came back to LJ.

I self-censor on FB b/c I've got an overly-diverse audience.

Facebook is to the 2010s what AOL was to the 1990s: Endless Summer Mk. II.

What I want is a place to post short stories, discussion of math and music and games, and thoughts on my life and the world in general that DOESN'T limit the character count of my writing to an absurdly small number. I also appreciate being able to easily look back at previous posts in an organized and accessible manner, something that Facebook doesn't allow.

Facebook is fine for getting back in touch with old friends, reasonable for snippets of chatter, and mediocre for photos. Beyond that it's useless.
