Frick, this was awesome. I love the quick, indeed adrenaline-chasing pace, how you throw us right into the scene, and yet you have such a good eye for details, not letting them go. Initially this read like science-fiction and gradually morphed into fantasy, and I love writers who can merge genres like that. Wonderful work. Good luck with this, it's brilliant, really stylish prose.
