Dylan phoned the other day to say that Connor and the rest of the team approved the plan to get Stephen and Captain Holtz out of their dimension to assist us. They entered the portal last evening to find them. Tori and Gabe will be there to stabilize the portal as they go through it. With any luck they shall return soon

*sees Giles enter a room that he is*

*scowls a little, quickly tries to get out of the room*

*see's Penn attempt to exit*

Penn, wait, please. I wish to speak to you.

*stops right at the doorway and sighs*

*turns around* Yeah? What about?

[_giles_]

I feel I owe you an apology.

*removes glasses and rubs bridge of nose.*

I am aware that the thought of bringing Emily Anne here would have disturbed you greatly. She caused you great harm and if you felt I was direguarding that fact, I apologize.

[_penn_]

*pauses, taken aback*

*looks at Giles, expression dark* Does that mean that there aren't going to be slayers anymore or that you have yet to find the solution?

[_giles_]

It means...

*sighs*

It means that we have yet to figure out exactly what went awry. There was the spell that was only intended to deactivate the potentials. Unfortunately, at the same time, in the same vicinity, a young lady inadvertantly made a wish to a vengeance demon wishing the vampires souls away. We are not certain if it was the mixture of the two things or if something else came into play. I am quite certain once given the proper time to give the matter some thought we will be able to reverse it. However seeing as how we are in the middle of an apocalypse our time has been better spent trying to stay alive. Besides, Buffy is still missing. We haven't the slightest idea where to begin searching for her. Once again, middle of an apocalypse, hasn't been any time to search for here. We can only hope she is safe, though I firmly believe that the only reason Spike would not be here assisting in this matter is because she needed him elsewhere.

*sits down at a desk near him, resting his elbows on the desk and his hands on his head*

Giles? Between Ashmore with his army outside trying to open the hellmouth, and then the Turok Han and everything else with no slayer. Answer me honestly. *looks over at him* About how many more of us are going to die before this ends? Hell, is there a chance we'll live?

[_giles_]

Penn, we have made it this far, despite the extraordinary odds against us. I believe the enmy was under the impression that without the slayers here we were easy pickings. Thus far we have proved him wrong. He keeps striking, we keep coming back. We have not given in. I think that speaks volumes.

By the end of the weekend we will have someone of slayer caliber. That will assist us with the Turok Han. As for Ashmore, well it is reasonable to believe we can defeat him. I think our group is back in the fighting spirit.
