The beginning!

I've finished the first in what I'm sure will be a long line of cascade footies. This size is really all I need out of everyday socks. I'm not a regular tennis shoe wearer, so these fit the bill! Knit on size 2s (I'm buying bamboo 3s today) at 44 stitches, toe up with an afterthought heel.( pink footies )

How much yarn did that use? I've got 192 yds of KnitPicks Sock Memories (bought one ball to make the purchase over $40...stupid me...I should have gotten two). Or maybe you have a suggestion as to what to use it for? I really hate wearing socks (but I live in WI, so I have to during winter), but I've got plenty of armwarmers out of some other beautifully handpainted yarn, and I really don't wear them too often.

Man, I've had this yarn for like 4 months, I'm in love with it, but I don't know what to do with it!

These take way less than a ball of cascade, well way is a generic term. These are really spandex-y.... Tell you what, I'll send you a ball. Would you use lime green, I have a ton of it. I know you're probably at a disadvantage yarn store wise. It'd really be my pleasure.

aawww! That'd be really sweet of you! The only knit socks that I've completed (one-sockeitisch syndrome) are purple with lime green stripes. I call them my Easter socks.

There does happen to be a yarn store about 5 blocks from my house. Unfortunately, they don't have anything as nice as Cascade. They're huge into novelty yarns and kits. But what do you expect from a yuppie neighborhood who is knitting because it's "cool."
