You will have SO MUCH FUN dying yarn with Kool-Aid. SO MUCH. But if you do it the microwave way (very very easy and more instant gratification) beware that not only will your kitchen smell like cherries or grapes or whatever, it will also smell like wet sheep. :D Fun fun.

Knitting notecards! I love mine, I think I have every kind of those ones.

What is Beignet Mix and how do you burn it?

Hey! I do't have a microwave and I don't think they'd appreciate it if I took it to work and did it there!

The yellow box is Beignet mix and it makes little french donoughts... There are a New Orleans speciality. Cafe du Monde is one of the most famous resturaunts in New Orleans and these are served with their fabulous coffee usually in orders of three. They are little squares of fried dough liberally covered in powdered sugar. Just before we were married my husband to be and I lived in Baton Rouge and used to go to New Orleans regularly. We would go there and have beignets and coffee, so this is a fabulous reminder ( ... )

Aww, you don't want your office to smell like wet sheep? Tip: WEAR GLOVES. Even if you're just poking the yarn down into the water with your fingertips, remember how very very concentrated the dye is (you'll want to use as little water as you can get away with to make it concentrated) and I had to come out with bright blue fingers before I figured that out. However, a good nail brush and a fair bit of soap and scrubbing will take care of it ( ... )

I got the bright colours at Sav-A-Center.. I think it's a local chain? Our Spanish population received quite a boost after Katrina, so now we get cool stuff like Mango and Pineapple Kool-Aid.

The other flavours I think are just harder to come across.. our Wal-Mart doesn't have them. If you're interested in any in particular, I'd be willing to pick some different ones up and send them to you. :)
