According to their religious laws all men (those old enough to grow a full beard) must be armed.
He sounded cool, and nice enough, but it makes me nervous to know that person is armed.

One who took your advice literally wouldn't have got to talk with Bruce Babbitt on the plane.
I think our _ginevra_ is smart enough to be an intelligent chooser of beggars for conversation, or not.

It's not that I think Rose isn't a capable adult, it's that she doesn't seem to realize what she's doing/saying sometimes (have you heard some of the "Rose-isms"?)
It is one thing to talk to someone on a plane, where there are witnesses and people can't really go anywhere and another to talk to a beggar on the street, where the people around are constantly changing and he could stuff her in a car and be miles away in a few moments.
