i love the part were victor gets his ass beat at the club's opening and then all hell breaks loose for him. It is the first time Victor gets what he deserves and it is also like real life because whenever something goes wrong all hell breaks loose. I haven't read to much of the book though but I just finished this particular part and I love it and I hope victor beats Baxter's ass when he gets back from Europe (and don't tell me if he does)
I agree with you hradmiralsfan. Victor getting beat up at the club opening is a major turning point in the novel. Every part of Victor's life falls apart: He loses Chloe, Allison and Damien. Its the end of the first ACT of the book (since the book is sort of broken into acts) and it is the precursor to Victor running off to take Palakon up on his offer immediately.
I'm hoping they put the sex scene with Victor, Chloe and Bobby in there ( I think Chloe is the woman in that particular scene). In all honesty, just to see Kip Pardue at least semi-naked would make the film that much better in my book :o).
Astralspiritboy - I'd bet money on Kip Pardue getting at least semi-naked in the film. (The Rules of Attraction already gave audiences a full-frontal shot of him.)
I agree with both of these posts about the 3-way sex scene being an important part to include. Not only would it push the envelope (as it did in the novel), but it is also important to the narrative. I'm hoping that this scene is depicted in an erotic, but also grim manner, as it sort of seals Victor's doomed involvement with these characters he thinks he knows.
I think its very cool that you have dedicated your live journal account to this particular Bret Easton Ellis character.
You should take it a step further and go ahead and start a blog AS Jamie Fields, talk about your days, both the exciting ones (blowing up buildings, hot sex with Victor and/or Bobby Hughes) and the not-so-exciting ones (shopping excursions at the Gucci store, popping xanax by the pool). What do ya say?
