omg you can call me Al!!! That's Paul Simon dahling. Rachel E. and I once did a guard routine to that :) (though, my roommate maintains that I've seen or done a routine to every song that ever existed. what can I say? We did a lot of routines!) Anyhoots. Pretty cool about the russian dude. It's craziness when you think about how where you're raised affects your opinions and beliefs. Like, a lot of places hate America, but in America, we think we're the greatest thing to ever happen. It's all very fascinating to me :) And I keep *meaning* to update my journal... but for whatever reason never get around to it!! I love that you update yours regularly though, it gives me something to read ;)
I was in that group too ho bag! LOL Actually, I recognized the Paul Simon's voice, and the only song that I actually knew the words to was that song, so I just typed the lyrics...yeah whatever. I was so in that group! We also did scatman or something like that, and the end of the world song. I remember an amazing amount of butterflies in call me al. Anyhoo
OMG YOU WERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I just remembered Rachel because it was her CD lol! Yeah scatman was the other i think. And the butterflies were like, the entire song. That was our freshman year or something wasn't it? Because I remember being like, I can't write routine! What is he thinking?!?! OMG PANIC. Was there the "Ain't no mountain high enough..." song in there? I dunno, all the early class routines are running together in my head!
The ain't no mountain high enough song was a different routine. We were in that with Leslie. I remember calling you from her house because you didn't come for the practice because you didn't have a ride or something, I don't know. But we left her house because it was too cold to work outside and we snuck into the bandroom to practice. I got in through the back doors that the pep band goes through, and the janitor caught me. And I was trying to be all James Bond like and was creeping around corners and stuff because I felt like I was being watched. I was, but from the other direction. I was/am such a nerd!
