Sweetie, hugs hugs hugs! I read this all and I feel numb, thinking of the times I too visited New Orleans...how it was once a very magical city, and now SO MUCH suffering, suffering that ultimately was needless, had the city been given the federal dollars it needed to raise the levies. I'm so sad for these people, so sad. More *hugs*

nothing says we can't make our own releif benefit.
there's only so many dancers that can fit into a benefit and nothing says that there only has to be one.

kiaroskuro donated her tips she made last night to the red cross - when the audience found this out, $50 bills were flying into the jar - people want to help, we all collectively are experiencing this horror. Amazingly, the historic sections of New Orleans are apparently in tact from what I have read. It seems that most of the devestation is in the suburbs.
