There are so few novels based in the Lower Mainland of BC. I am reading one of the few that are,'Hey Nostradamus!', right now and it's making me homesick for a place where people know how to pronounce 'Agassiz'. And 'homesick' really isn't in my repetoire. why wouldnt you want to live there?
thats almost the opposite of how matt feels. he wants to raise kids in canada and not in the states. (well after we return from africa that is). i dont really know how i feel about that because bc is still some sort of a mystery to me. yes i know a couple things and realize its similar to washington but the people are different, and the way of life is different.

I would love to live in BC, just not in the boonies, where I grew up. That's what I meant. Vancouver is a fabulous city, and I'd love to raise a family there, just not in the creepy Eastern edges of the urban sprawl, that Coupland describes so well.

I LOVE that you are beginning to read that book. Oh man. I'll also have to loan you his short story collection "Life After God". There's more magic in that book too. Everybook I read of his however, deepens my appreciation for his incredible description.

I"m back now! V and I are anxious to take you and Andy out for Indian.

I actually just finished it, and it was incredible. Have you read 'All Families Are Psychotic'? It was really great, too. He's got such a dark sense of humour. It's excellent.

And! We can't wait to see you guys and hear Montreal stories!! Call us anytime!

My Vanessa! I just emailed you! No baby yet? Well, it will happen, my friend. I'm so glad my mum saw you! She has little outfits for the baby that she is dying to give you!

Lara had her baby? Boy or girl? Name? There are so many new babies around these days. Andy's cousin is due in a month, and you are due RIGHT NOW.

K. I emailed you with our phone # here, so call, dahling! Love you lots!
