please recommend your favorite play that has been turned into a movie! something relatively popular because i have to go out and be able to buy it/rent it/check it out of a library. i've gotta read the play and watch the movie version of it. ex: Hairspray, Angels in America, RENT, Cyrano de Bergerac, anything by Shakespeare, etc

i personally love Hairspray because of zefron the meaning it has. i can't stand ignorance.

I would definitely do Hairspray but we're watching it in class next week. :[ I'm obsessed with Zefron and the movie too. My mom bought me the deluxe edition of it from Best Buy for Christmas two years ago complete with stickers, pink locker, and a tote bag.

I'm so tempted to bring it to school next week but then I'm insanely insecure and would think that everyone's secretly going "LOL FAT GIRL. You WOULD love Hairspray." :P

I haven't seen the play, I'd like to (but the original with Angela Lansbury...I suppose that will be impossible.)

Or Hair.
Hair is a classic. I haven't seen the play either, but the movie/music is damn good.

I've seen Sweeney Todd and I ran down to the library yesterday and finally found an old battered copy of the play. [Complete with pictures, and OH LULZ Angela Lansbury!] Thank you for the suggestion. :D
