What a good idea. I knew that software patents were getting out of hand when Circuit City tried to *sell me the Windows disc* for my computer for an extra $30.00. It was a "special, one-time offer", that I could only get when I bought the computer. I guess if the system crashes and you need to restore it, your fucked. For $100.00, I could have gotten antivirus software, spyware protection and somebody to help me set up the computer. It's sad there are people out there who pay for that.

Suffice it to say I didn't end up buying a computer from them. I went and bought a refurb from a local dealer called Computer Renaissance. I asked them if my computer would include a Windows disk. They looked at me sideways and said "um...yes...why wouldn't it?" I told them about Circuit city's "special deal", and they were rather horrified.
