How to free a track purchased from the iTms

Since JHymn can't handle tracks bought with iTunes 6.x, I've come up with a way to free those tracks using iMovie. This method is pretty non-automatic, so it's really the sort of thing you'd only want to do if you needed to, but it's good that it exists ( Read more... )

Alternately, you could burn the track to a CD-R or CD-RW, then re-import it as an MP3. I find that easier, but your mileage may vary.

yeah, I just hate wasting cds. I probably ought to get a CDRW to keep around for this purpose. I was mostly more amused that Apple left a hole (if not a very big one) in their copy protection scheme. The fact that they require you to add video to the iMovie project before you can share it indicates that they were aware of this.
