This might not make sense, but I'm trying to conceptualize some ideas floating in my head.

Lately I've been trying to build a relationship with God, whoever or whatever that may be. I'm not doing it because I felt I was "going down the wrong path," or I needed a "spiritual intervention," but simply because I think it would truly enhance my life and offer guidance when I'm lost or alone

i don't think you have to give up complete control... i mean, we have choices for a reason. no matter what face you put to god, one thing has to be true: if he is all-powerful then he could easily control our lives, but obviously we have choices for a reason.
