Well, that was a job well done. Last night Amy and I put a protective spell around the play, binding it to the scripts. For good measure I placed the obsidian that was the focus of the spell beneath the stage, to protect the theater itself, and I believe we'll be fairly impervious to the strange occurrences that dog this school

I watch where I'm stepping as we approach the unfinished part of the school, avoiding the boards and other debris littering the area. "Hmm, anyone look like a foreman to you?"

I turn to Taffy. "You coming with?" I smile at her; wonder if it's the excessive testosterone around here that's makin' her nervous.

"So, uh, Heather," I say, letting go of Taffy. "You new in town?"

"Semi-new. I grew up here but I've been away for a few years. College, then there was the whole desperately trying to get a job in my chosen profession thing." I grin. "I came home to regroup, and the teaching job just fell in my lap--there's always been a high teacher turnover around here."

I motion the students to come in and then show Stefan around the stage, giving him a rough idea of what I have in mind for the final set. "A mock up of the corner of the house, roughly here, with the balcony about here. The scenery committee will do all the painting, of course."
