How to get from
 to

In PS 7.  Not translatable.

JUST A NOTE
Typically for my icons, I do all the coloring before cropping, simply because the coloring in the background can sometimes make the icon more interesting, and that way I have my options open.  However, for space purposes, I did crop this before I colored it, since I already knew how it looked.

Step One: Start off with your cap (mine is here, from screencap paradise.)   Crop it however you wish.

Step Two: Duplicate the base twice, and set both layers to SCREEN, 100% opacity.

Step Three: Create a SELECTIVE COLOR adjustment layer.  The settings:
REDS:
C: +15
M: -30
Y: -27
B: +100

YELLOWS:
C: +60
M: -27
Y: -27
B: -28

NEUTRALS:
C: +25
M: -12
Y: -22
B: +5

Step Four: Create a SELECTIVE COLOR adjustment layer.  The settings:
REDS:
C: -80
Y: +90

YELLOWS:
C: +56
M: -43
Y: -100
B: +36

NEUTRALS:
C: +20

Step Five: Create a SELECTIVE COLOR adjustment layer.  The settings:
REDS:
C: -100
M: +25

Step Six: Create a SELECTIVE COLOR adjustment layer.  The settings:
REDS:
C: -100
M: +15
Y: +100

YELLOWS:
C: -47
Y: -31
B: -22

NEUTRALS:
C: +17
M: -11
Y: -18
B: -17

Step Seven: Add a texture, on screen.  The one I used was by
peoplemachines.

All done!  Show me what you come up with. :)
