Has anyone else noticed Director Wilikins' ...rather erratic behavior? He has asked me for the documents on the Department of Security and Defense three times today, despite the fact that I have given them to him the first time he asked. The poor man. We're all overworked and stretched out these days. He deserves a vacation somewhere quiet

Excellent, Minister. This country needs a decisive leader in these dark times.

It's all office rumors so far, but a few people have mentioned that Mister Shaklebolt, ah, may have gotten carried away while fulfilling his duties during the riot. One wizard dead, but it's a clear minority over the number of deaths he did not directly cause.

Carried away? I'll have to ask Moody about this, but he shouldn't be suspended. We need all the men we can get.

Don't be an idiot Umbridge, you're suggesting we use Unforgiveables. We must maintain the distinction between criminals and the law. As for Shacklebolt's suspension, it is temporary. War or no war, mistakes must not go without consequences. Give anyone too much power over others and you've started down a slippery-path towards the very attitude we are trying to combat.

You can press this as much as you like, but it will never get my condolance.

I am suggesting that we give our aurors a fighting chance against cold-blooded murderers, Moody. They use Unforgivables. The distinction would be that ours is officially mandated and used for the protection of the people.

We are at war. These criminals are getting bolder by the minute, as seen by their attack on that school. They do not fear us or the consequences of breaking our laws. It will get worse if we do nothing.

As for Shaklebolt, I would think you would be the first person to support the lifting of his suspension. The Minister agrees with me in this matter.

Just because some people eat Flobber-worms does not mean that we all should. Unforgiveables are unforgiveable for a reason. As we have seen, mistakes can be made, mistakes using these spells would have far greater consequences.

Aurors do not do nothing, there are ways of fighting without debasing ourselves like this. And whilst war changes things, it doesn't make anything and everything acceptable.

You think wrong. I bloody suspended him in the first place. There are more things at stake here than just the manpower available.
