Hem hem.

In light of recent events, I would like to remind everyone that I am the unofficial disowned Slytherin. The Slytherin by accident. I certainly don't hold the same veiws as anyone else in this House. I feel dreadful for the killings and hope for immediate and effective Ministry action ( Read more... )

Yes, we do. But you are suspended and won't be in school when we return.

I wouldn't want to touch your things whether or not you're around. I will be spending all the blessed time enjoying the quiet of your absence.

...Better yet, I will rearrange the dormitory and you won't know where your things are.

People die every day. I don't see how that was so special.

Also, this has been bothering me. I would like to be the first to say that this stupid "rule" set down by an unstable Professor is in direct violation of our right to speech. One word, "mudblood" isn't that offensive on it's own.

Mudblood. Mudblood mudblood.

And yet some people are so uptight as to not let it go and get on with their lives? This is ridiculous, in my opinion. Hogwarts is not a dictatorship. I doubt anyone had any sort of clearance to even state that rule. And then the said professor goes on to swear at students. What does that say about the Hogwarts teaching staff?

I understand taking points away for swearing, but for a good population of this school, that word (which is all it is) was one of the first words spoken as children. I know that 'mudblood' was one of my first words. It's a staple in my vocabulary. Telling me that I cannot say it is just thick ( ... )

I understand perfectly what you're saying, Regulus. But sometimes, progress for progress sake is dangerous. We must never forget that we are a part of a whole system. As such, we must move along with the system. Otherwise, where would we be?

A lot of people are offended with these sentiments, and I would suggest keeping them to yourself. That term also, the one which you are using is losing us House points and very politically incorrect. The correct word is 'muggle-born'.

Yes, this is a tradgedy, but we really must move on.

You're right, we are part of a system. If that's true, wouldn't you agree that if one drunk, mental, angry professor taking away mad amounts of housepoints is a detriment to our system? Wouldn't you agree that if ANYONE were going to change the system it be the Headmaster? I would listen to the Headmaster. To others, I don't see the point.

If I must keep my opinions to myself then I suggest everyone keeping their opinions to themselves. Complaining about random muggles dying is not something that I want to read, yet I can't tell people to shove off because then I would get in trouble. It offends me. And people telling me that my opinion is wrong and then going on and on about their opinions also offends me.

I may be acting like a stupid child, but I refuse to move on until something is done and this is brought to higher authority.

You have a point. Didn't professor Delame consult the headmaster first before imposing these rules? If not, I shouldn't think his rules apply. As for the drunk swearing part, I would assume he has been chastized for it.

It's the power of the majority, I'm afraid. It all gets to us, Regulus. It's the inherent flaw in our social structure, but changing it now seems impossible.

By all means you should approach Professor Delame and air out your greivances! It's your right as a student to have intelligent debate with a professor. I would support you all the way.

Merlin's Beard, when will you stop making indirect references to your disapproval of Antonin Dolohov? It's getting tiring.

Excuse me? When have I even mentioned his name? Was he responsible for all those lost House points? Single-handedly responsible?

I said indirectly, meaning you don't mention his name. I didn't say that he lost all of the points. Whatever, just stop being a bint. It's getting really annoying.
