Minerva McGonagall tapped her wand impatiently against her desk. There were five minutes left until detention was supposed to begin for Miss Brown, Miss Chang and Miss Patil, and none of them had arrived yet. Lavender Brown ran into the Transfiguration classroom with three minutes to spare. She had been searching for Parvati just in case Cho beat them there. She did not want to have to deal with the increasingly mad Ravenclaw girl on her own, but she couldn't find Parvati anywhere.

She looked around the room and stopped. This was much worse. Professor McGonagall was the only one there.

"Miss Brown, how good of you to join me. Please, take a seat." McGonagall's seemingly kind words belied the stern look on her face, ensuring that Lavender knew she had no choice in the matter.

Lavender shuddered inwardly. Obviously, Professor McGonagall was still angry about the incident. It came as no surprise, though, since Colin was gloating to everyone about the supposedly fabulous photos that he had taken of the whole fight. What she wouldn't give to get her hands on him at that moment.

She sat down in a seat near the middle and shrank down, wishing she could disappear.

Parvati walked in with only two minutes until detention. She was happy to see Lavender was already there. There was also no sign of Cho yet.
