an article about bugs found in some food in tcnj's dining hall ran in the school paper. i wrote an editorial that i am pretty happy with, that i hope is in the paper next week, and that i hope will maybe be cause for a little bit of change.

the original article is here, though i don't think its 100% necessary to read it before reading ( my editorial. )

I read both... go you!!! That is really ridiculous, and I know high schools get government funding to improve their cafeterias, so colleges should now step up so as not to be a step down from high school.

Though the other day I found a maggot in my mom's cooking, it made me toss a bit, and she was like "what, maggots are protein!" and yea, there goes the once a month I have dinner with my mom. What a bad excuse on her part.

yeah, i'm not sure what the funding situation is like around here for the cafeteria, even though TCNJ is a state school.. all of the dining issues are contracted out to a private company called sodexho. i dont know if that is how it works in public high schools as well.. but i remember once at eastern someone found a ladybug in the lettuce wraps. it was funny rather than disturbing though, mostly because you arent forced to buy that food and the eastern cafeteria doesnt go around parading itself as one to provide amazing/delicious/healthy food, ha.

and that is really yucky about the maggot!!!

oh man you should go on a strict eickhoff cake diet. i wonder if the cake is organic to aid the tcnj sustainability movement?

I wonder. Let's investigate this. And if I go on a cake diet I will probably die within days.
