Trite as it may be, I think you're better off without him. I have so little respect for guys like him (but then I have a hard time not judging guys based on how they act in relationships). It's one thing if a guy is open about wanting to be in an open relationship, but to lie and say he's faithful when he's not (and doesn't want to be based on repeated actions) is pretty lame.
