lmao, I am so confused! haha Where do you get the layers? yea, no real icon-making experience here.

Layers are what make up what will eventually be a finished icon. Like, for instance, the original base image of Ewan is one layer in the palette, the gradient another layer, the texture is another layer, and the text is put on a separate layer as well. Then you can change the settings of those layers individually to create different effects. I'm terrible at explaining things but if you have any more questions feel free to ask! :)
