WARNING:

Alright, my other photobucket account just told me that my bandwith exceeded. And because it is not the album I just posted my icons in, I am guessing that some one has been hotlinking my other account big time. So, please take this warning serisouly. If this happens one more time I will close my journal to friends only, just to make sure ( Read more... )

Well... there's a good way to stop it.
Take down the real picture and replace it with something that's ugly and reads, "I'm a dirty skank because I steal images from (insert LJ name here)."
Keep the same title of the original photo, and now, instead of having a cool background or header, they are declaring themselves to be a thieving skank.

Thats the best way I know of.

I had that same problem today!!! I made a new account and everything. Well I've stumped them coz i changed the addresses *hahaha*

Lol thats a good way *muahaha*. Args. I just hate those people who do not understand the no hotlinking deal. It's like, they want to see your work, but on the other hand they are giving you so many reasons you just sometimes want to stop. But anyway, I am NOT going to stop :) I just hope the same thing will happent to them once, then they will maybe realize that hotlinking is just WRONG. Lol I'll shut up now ^_^

Look at my userinfo page--I have links to two great articles by eyesthatslay, a very good iconmaker. One is about how to credit icons and other graphics, and the other is why hotlinking is wrong and what to do about it. Hope all this helps. *stabs the hotlinkers with a spork*
