I think animation must be a very difficult thing to do well. It's so terribly tempting to do too much, and then the overall effect is dizzying or a blur or just simply over-the-top. You don't do that. While I didn't take more than just these three, I thought that all of your animated icons were beautifully realized, and the animation enhanced rather than detracted in each case.

Your wording to describe the problem is perfect, I agree. Sometimes I have the put the animation out of my sight for some time and come back to it the next day, seeing it in a different light and realizing that it looks better if the looping is different, if there are less frames, etc. So I definitely cannot say these are all made on first tries.
