I'm a night owl by far. I have trouble going to bed at respectable hours, but I often force myself to for obligations and stuff. Given the option though, I'll go to sleep at 3 AM and wake up at 11 AM.

Recently, I worked an opening shift from 4:30 AM to 8:30 AM. I had to wake up at 3 AM and go to sleep at like, fucking 9. But it wasn't very hard to be up at 3 AM, given my general proclivities. The hard part was going to bed early.

same here. I can make myself function in the morning but it is hard. All my best artistic things happen at night. I've tried hard painting and making art during the day but it doesn't work.

Night Owl as long as I can remember anomaly_adrift November 21 2014, 10:49:58 UTC
This is me to a T. I remember having jobs or school really early in the morning, and it was as if i wasn't even there. But as far back as middleschool, I would have a terrible time trying to fall asleep at a "normal" time. Or find myself waking up in the middle of the night and sneaking downstairs to watch TV and work creatively. More recently over the past several years I was working at a bar, which was great in some respects. clear streets on the way home, no daywalkers at the 24 hour supermarket, and in general just more time to slip into introspective thought and idea exploration without distractions. But even as I'm typing this, its "odd" hours. My girlfriend hated this, as I'd often slip out of bed (when i couldn't sleep) to work on things. But yeah, I prefer Night Owling, and just need to find a new creative way to support myself on this time schedule. Thank you for posting about this :)

Morning person. Started in my late 20s - before that I had been a night owl, but when I 'discovered' the morning, I was hooked.

How lucky! I've always wanted to be a lark because
i hear they are happier people who get more stuff done.

i rise in the morning and hit the hay around 11. i used to be way more of a night person but it screws with my sleep, and i have enough problems with that as is.

Going to bed at 11 pm is perfection for me when I am on my normal schedule. Also weirdly, if i go camping I become a morning person without effort.

i've never been camping, but i can imagine it could be because you're on vacation, no longer surrounded by whatever clutter would otherwise be around you.
my energy is probably relatively high. but i don't think our bodies respond well to nocturnal living. that's when our melatonin (lol, spell-check says 'melanin') is supposed to take over. our bodies are very porous to daylight.

I woke up at 2:30PM today because I was up til 7AM. That should say everything right there, haha. I wish I was a morning person, but I have never been and never will be.
