Holy crap, i'm updating again? Crazy, huh?
I'm a self-proclaimed art hermit this weekend. I have to finish my RISD drawings so I can send in, and do another illustration for school. For my AP art concentration (12 pieces) I decided to do mythology illustrations- I just finished my first one...
I struggled with it at first but i'm pretty happy with it now. Any of you fabulous people have favorite mythology stories that you want me to illustrate? I think i'm going to do Icarus for my next one, but i'm not sure.
I've been battling it out with my artistic self a bit lately. I think that up until this point, i've focused solely on developing my technical skill instead of creativity. But now, with art school applications and all of that, I realized that I don't know how to be creative anymore. I can draw you anything you plop infront of me but I really struggle with coming up with my own ideas and communicating them well. Artists, musicians, mathematicians, any thoughts? I think that will be my goal for before I start college- learn how to be creative damn it!
Oh! Jason Webley was amazing. When we got there we were the only two people there (besides the people that worked at the venue) and it was really awkward and surreal, but after an hour or so there were about 20ish people there and Jason did his thing. I didn't get a chance to take any pictures (I was too distracted by his awesomeness) but yeah, it was great. I hope I get to see him again sometime.
Well, i'm going to go work on my last RISD drawing (interior space!). Bye my lovelies!
