Market, Ram's Apartment: Java, Ram

May 19, 2004 03:01

Java reached the market in good time, in spite of her conspicuous appearance; her muscles were functioning almost normally now, though her wrists and legs were still sore, and the defiant sparkle in her eyes seemed sufficient warning to any would-be approachers. She was not popular among the Virts, Java had no illusions about that, but she was ( Read more... )

Ram's eyes were glued to his laptop screen as he clicked feverishly on his keyboard. He had started coding a new game, like the games he would make before the virus after school and during the summer. He had given up on tracing old techno files and repairing them. I don't really have any use for them anymore... He reasoned. And it was true, he didn't. He'd rather just stay confined to his apartment on the edge of town than try to take over the city again. It was nice here, he had everything he wanted. Besides, virts are just to difficult to work with. They don't understand anything.

Ram looked up when he sensed someone watching him. He smiled back at Java. "I'm not very hungry" He lied. He hadn't eaten yet today, but he didn't want to leave what he was doing in fear of losing his spot in the coding. "There are things in the kitchen if you want to make lunch, though." He offered.

[[OOC: I'm so sorry to keep you waiting so long. It won't happen again.]]

Java arched a brow very, very slightly at the expanse of code filling Ram's laptop screen. He'd been busy in her absence, she thought, interested. There was a slightly more pronounced sway to her hips than normal as she crossed the distance between them, a smile playing on her lips that was no longer for Ram's benefit. "You need to eat," she reminded him, as she came up behind him and rested a hand gently on the back of his chair. Her eyes traveled her husband's features for just a moment, genuine tenderness softening her countenance; as interested as she was in his work and its potential usefulness to her, it was still important to make sure that he kept his strength up. Ram had a bad habit of ignoring such frivolities as food and sleep when he was in the middle of something, and if the full screen and feverish typing were any indication, he'd been at this project for a while. "You're still not immune to everything, you know..." Java's gaze shifted to ( ... )

[OOC: Nonononononono. You take your time. I don't want you failing any classes because of me. Just drop me an email every so often. I get awfully worried.]

Ram ceased from his typing. Java's concern for him was truly touching. Perhaps he should stop, it was just a stupid game, anyways. It didn't have to get done anytime soon.

Ram leaned his head back against his wife. "I suppose you're right." He conceeded. She always knew what was best for him. It usually had a bad result when he didn't listen to her. He leaned forward and saved his file, then wrote down a few notes on a piece of paper by his laptop.

After closing his laptop, Ram got up slowly and took Java's hands. "Let's go make lunch."

Java's hands tightened around Ram's for a moment, her eyes meeting his with a bit of the tenderness she reserved for only him. "If you're sure it's not too much of an interruption..." She was still getting to used to this new Ram, with his virt clothing and affectionate mannerisms, but already Java liked what she saw; if he was managing to become more human while simultaneously continuing to work on his projects, then life promised to be good for the both of them. Now, if she could just get him away from his laptop long enough for her to upload his work ( ... )
