so tonight, i think i'm less cynical about the higher education system. the reason? a sarcastic comment from allison! "psshh, new ideas, who comes up with Those??" haha.. it's true, i guess there really are some new ideas that are out there to be discovered... 'post modern' will evolve, somehow, into something new. that's nice to know.

haha Glad to know my sarcasm has given rise to profound thoughts. :P

Religious figures aside, it is possible to get pregnant without vaginal intercourse. Heck, it happens every day with IVF! heh Sperm can last more than a few milliseconds although I think it's still less than a minute or two.

As for the hymen, it has holes in it (if it's intact at all) which is how girls can still menstruate before they've had sex.

As for what constitutes sex and virginity, that's hard to say. Virginity is more a social construct than an actual, physical state. If someone tells me that they're a virgin, I understand that to mean that they have never had vaginal intercourse. I don't assume anything beyond that though. Taking it up the ass? That's definitely sex in my book but virginity as a concept is so tied to vaginal sex that while I'd personally agree with you on that chick, I can see why she thought she still was. Don't know why she cared though. She'd obviously missed the point.
