Intimacy...

Apr 15, 2006 19:07

Ok, question I want to hear everybody's opinion on..ok?

Well, is it weird if one finds kissing to be more intimate and personal than sex? And is that necessarily a bad thing?

I would really appreciate input...thanks.

Well, I know hookers charge a lot more if kissing is involved, and some won't allow it at all... not implying that if you feel this way, you're a hooker, I'm just saying....

no...sex has become something that is nothing that big of a deal and important. so it's possible that kissing is more intimate and personal than sex.

I remember once I was in B&N with a bunch of people, and someone was reading a book on sex, and it had like percentages of people who answered certain questions about sex. Some large percentage of women far above 50% said that kissing was more intimate than sex. I remember that specifically. Then people were discussing it and agreeing and stuff. Mind you, I wasn't very involved in this discussion, but I remember it clearly.

So no, you're not alone. ;)

I think that because kissing invloves no sexual or orgasmic passion, it's more of an intimate experience. Sex is objective, people do it to feel pleasure, especially when you're not in a relationship or if the relationship doesn't mean anything. Kissing involves work with no satisfaction, just arousal. So performing work with no personal gain is something you'd do for someone you care about. For example, buying flowers for someone offers no sexual or biological satisfaction, but you'd do it to someone you care about. So kissing demonstrates care and respect without the any sexual satisfaction, but that depends on if anything happens after kissing is involved. So right now it's hard to comprehend because we're still playing the relationship game. But when you're living alone and going clubbing every night, it becomes more apparent.
