In honour of the holidays I've changed my journal layout. I think it's quite cute.

It may stick around after Christmas. (Assuming I can figure out where all the buttons are!)

Also, we bought our Christmas tree tonight. It's thawing and soaking up water in the kitchen and the house is starting to smell like Christmas!! :)

We got ours too.

It feels weird to be putting it up without Dad and Suzie. Especially since the tree doesn't seem straight and the lights aren't on just right.

A christmas tree!?! But it's only Dec 15th...you still have 10 days to go. My dad has all of us trained that you don't even start thinking about a real tree until at the earliest Dec 20th. It's a fairly fool proof method, although the year I was born, my Mom ended up sending my dad down their street to buy a tree from the "Junk Man" and once when my sister and I were little, we got our tree from a gas station out #1 highway on Christmas eve. Keeps it interesting :)

Is your tree a swamp spruce or is it a fancy one?

We got a pretty spruce. We always get a spruce. It's not up yet though. It's sitting in a bucket by the back door. So now we only have nine days to go, and we probably won't be able to find the ornaments in the attic till tomorrow. So that'll give us just over a week to enjoy it.

For us, without the tree up, it's hard to get excited about Christmas coming, so we alwyas try to get the tree up at least a week early. Then we can spend the week snooping at the presents under it!
