I've migrated from the old Geek Code to the more current OmniCode, and you can see the results in my profile. You will note that I have kept my old Geek Code (as well as the indispensable Yiddishkeit Code) for nostalgic reasons ( Read more... )

You are completely right, it is pseudoscience, and thus I do not feel sufficiently informed to comment on it ;]

miou_vicioso is an INFP and she used to be interested in the MBTI, so she might know... I can't ask her right away as she's already asleep.

Wow, I didn't know Omnicode. High time someone came up with something like the Geek Code... though now that I look at it, I sort of feel Omnicode is missing the funny quips that categorized... er, categories in the Geek Code.

But wait, if your code says you're not looking for your bashert, then what's the point in finding out the type you should look for?

It should really be Rl/1->MKd*. Just because I have the sense to not get involved with somebody while working on my master's doesn't mean I don't want it eventually.

That said, I'm really just curious since I rarely hear of MBTI outside of the context of determining with whom one is most suited to cohabitate.

to not get involved with somebody while working on my master's

That makes perfect sense. BTW do you have any plans on what you're going to do after your master's? You're the only one I know who's doing a master's in music, so I don't really have an idea what possible career paths it offers. Many of my friends are doing (or were doing) a master's in (or related to) art, but all of theirs are related to film - scriptwriting, film theory, multimedia, etc. I suppose information on their plans does not generalize to music.

I'm really just curious since I rarely hear of MBTI outside of the context of determining with whom one is most suited to cohabitate.Because it's a completely unscientific (or, rather, nonscientific?) pop-psych thing and these pop-somethings go together. I wouldn't be surprised to find the MBTI combined with dieting, too ( ... )

Hah, plans. No, not really. I'm getting my MA (or maybe MFA, I don't know) because I like going to school, really. There's not really any work for a BFA in Interrelated Media so getting the Master's will, at the least, guarantee me a teaching job somewhere.

Ideally I'd like to make a living as a musician. Easier said than done. A significant portion of my work involves programming, so I guess I could get a job at a software company. Or I could teach. I'll be satisfied with most any job in the field so long as I have time to daven every day and make some music for myself from time to time. And squeeze a few hours in to WoW. ; )
