Because
_demon_within asked for the effects I used for the Lestat icon from
this batch, I wrote a tutorial for it. Rather unspectacular and easy. Really.

Using Photoshop CS. No Levels, no curves.
01 // Depending on your image, duplicate the base various times and set to screen.
I duplicated my base three times and set them on screen mode at 100%.
02 // Add a new empty layer and flood fill it with #B2F6F9. Set to color burn at 100%.
03 // Add a new empty layer and fill with #FCD7FC. Set it to soft light at 100%.
04 // Looks rather strange, so we add yet another empty layer and fill it with #F9E6B2, which we set to color burn at 100%. It's rather dull I know. Bear with me, we're almost there.
05 // Go back to the light blue layer and duplicate it (ctrl + j).Drag it on top - it already should be set to color burn. (If it isn't, set it to color burn at 100%.)
06 // Last step: Go bag to your base and duplicate it. Drag it on top and set to soft light at 100%. Please note that I didn't sharpen the image, because the original picture was of good quality. You may need to sharpen your icons, though.
You're done :)
I hope this tutorial helps you a bit. If you have questions, feel free to ask them. I'd also like to see what your results are :)
