-_- Seriously though..? This whole thing is bizarre. When I first saw someone mention it yesterday, I thought that SURELY they must simply be over-reacting about something. But dear God, this is spiralling out of control! Needless to say, I hope to see you still safe and sound once this thing is put down.
Well, thank goodness this whole ordeal is simmering down. It really gave those involved a panic attack. LJ news posted an apology issued by the CEO of Six Apart and they're trying to fix things. And it's not like one of those fandom wankers that can easily be taken care of; legal actions can actually be taken, I think. I understand their mission, but if they really want to rid the world of pedophiles, they should reset their focus or find better means of hunting pedophiles down.

I saw the news post -- and my eyes bled because of the number of typos/missed words/etc xD -- and I still don't get how they didn't anticipate this sort of reaction from people. Should it not be a huge 'well, DUH!' that people would react to this badly? I do think that they meant well with the whole 'crack down on pedophiles' bit, but they obviously didn't go about it in the right way >.<

I've never been in a fight with someone online before, but I got into it BAD with someone yesterday, which of course was right in the middle of this whole fiasco. (Figures, right? XDDD) I was just WAITING for her to report my journal or something, but...I think it's over, and I think you and I and most everyone else are more or less out of the woods =D Let's just hope that that's really the case...
XDDD I barely noticed anything! It was stupid on their part, really, to expect that 'strikethrough' thing to cleanse LJ of pedophiles without incurring heated reactions. I'm not saying there AREN'T any lurking around, but you can't senselessly accuse people of being pedophiles just by the contents of their journals. I think they assumed whoever that is interested in reading a bunny!boi getting screwed by a tall dark man condones the act in reality. It's fantasy (for me, at least XD
