On your second point...I have a time management/motivational book by Hillary Reiting (sp.?). She is a vegetarian and activist...she also does speaking and lives locally. Anyhoo, I am so guilty of like everything she mentions. I went to her talk, decided to change a bunch of what I do to get better and by the time I got home I was back to my old ways. Haha.
Oh, that's so tragic! I am kind of obsessed with self-improvement, but sometimes I just can't get started at making a change, and then I tell someone about my problem, and that's all I need to turn it around--if it's someone I care about, I imagine they're holding me accountable, even if they actually aren't.
Once upon a time, I had internal motivation. Then I got old, fat, and lazy...
