Everyday I see more and more kids being killed by careless drunk driving. The numbers of casualties grow everyday. Just a few days ago we got a carload of 16/17 year olds drunk coming back from a party on their way to another party ( Read more... )

Jebus.... I don't know how you do it. erasorhed and I work at the same company. Our company manufactures a drug that makes cancer patients live a better life. It's a little removed from saving lives, but quite fulfilling, and I just can't imagine being in a job where my hands were actually saving lives, and still having someone say that shit to me.

Fucking unbelievable >:(

Well I'm about to start a new job in a few months in a pediatric trauma center in Oakland. It'll be nice to get away from the constant hoards of drunk adult patients and homeless wasters. Helping kids will hopefully give me my enthusiasm for the job back.

Yeah... it would be nice to get away from the ungrateful ones at least... I just hope it's not, in fact, harder to deal with dying kids sometimes.

I feel the same way you do about that whole incident. People like that make me feel so angry! Why do people like that get to go on living?!!! ARGH!!

Yeah, I've been very busy and not around much. I just don't have the energy anymore to make my ER posts. I think i'm disappointing alot of people who added me in hopes of seeing pictures and reading about all the gory shit I deal w/ at work.

Eventually I'll get around to making another ER post but I'm in the stages of work burnout right now.

That must feel horrible to get from someone who's life you've just saved :( But if he wasn't intoxicated when he said that, I'm sure he said it in lack of a better answer, 'cause he agreed with you. I feel really sorry for him in an angry way.

I admire your self-control. If I had your job, I would abuse my power by killing the drunk drivers -- they don't learn, they have no remorse & HIGH recidivism rates -- killing drunk drivers is preventative medicine.

My spine & credit rating are permanently ruined because of a drunk driver. My aunt lost her face, spine and home because of a drunk driver. My friend's family members were recently murdered by a drunk driver on his third known injury/death-causing offense. The callous, stupid fuckheads who drive drunk deserve to die.
