He’s legal!!! So 20 is “of age” in Camelot? I always thought Arthur was younger. They keep calling him a “boy,” and the bit about Sophia being his first love... I guess he's a bit of a late bloomer....
I think Arthur has women issues. As well as the more obvious father issues. His mother dies when he is born = guilt. His father spends the next 20 years mourning his lost soulmate = guilt. Any casual flings run the risk of illegitimate heirs and wars of succession. The whole code of chivalry discourages active love for some sort of idealised version. *g* And then, of course, there's Merlin!!
I totally squee’d with joy when Arthur threw down his gauntlet. I pretty much just wanted to stand up and cheer. This, THIS is the guy that will unite all Albion. This is the guy that the knights of the Round Table will follow to the ends of the earth, who will inspire legends

Yes, totally agree. It also doesn't seem like they've been very much on his mind before now - I mean, he had to ask Lancelot if Morgana was beautiful... you'd think that he'd've figured that out before.
Great drama and no reliance on bad CGI.
YES.
Imagine if Nimueh had given Uther that choice - wife or son?
mmm, yeah, now that he knows what the cost, would he go back and choose differently? He said yes, even knowing how well his son turns out. I wonder what Ygraine would've chosen, or if she'd known that Uther had asked Nimueh to use magic? (I kind of think yes, and she told her brother, because why else would Tristan be so adamant that it was Uther's fault she died? Women died all the time in childbirth in those days.)
I do think she wants to harm Arthur more than Uther hence not whacking him when they were alone. No point in revenge if the object you are revenging yourself on is not around to see it.Yes, I definitely see that for this particular situation - she was so gleeful at the

I've been thinking about this a little. I'm pretty sure, despite what he said, Uther would (still) choose his son over his wife. For dynastic reasons. Cos that's what it means to be a king....You have to do things for Camelot that go totally against what you might want as a person. Poor Uther. Poor Arthur. Although you'ld be able to ratchet up the angst content times a thousand if Uther had made the choice knowing what it would entail. (Still in France, checking the webmail. Really, really miss my laptop.)
