*is sitting, stitching (mending-- hasn't often got the patience for embroidery) in careful, even stitches, a dull task, we're afraid, but necessary-- elsewise, the holes in a certain headmate's elbows will only grow wider, and it's a very cold winter to be having holes in one's elbows
