You moved like honey in my dream last night....

Last night, I saw Fiona Apple at the Orpheum in Boston.  I don't think I can ever see a more powerful concert in my life.  I'm going to sound  really obsessed, even a twinge crazy, but she effected me so much, it was so strangely moving.
Gushing about the concert )

I find it really interesting that although she sings about being so hopeless, she comes off as being so strong, too. Her weakness gives her strength.

Anyway, I wish I had been able to go. Damn McGill chemistry exams.

My friend that I went with to her concert said this:

If Sylvia Plath came back as a singer, I think she would be Fiona Apple.

ps. they're still cleaning up my mess

Hmmm, that's a good connection. Weirdly enough, my favorite writer is Sylvia Plath and my favorite singer is Fiona Apple.

Hrm. I've never felt very drawn to Sylvia Plath, maybe I should give her another look. I think that I feel like her world was too bleak, maybe I don't like that we know the end of the story, that eventually she couldn't deal and committed suicide. That ending doesn't leave any glimmer of hope, I prefer persistance, depth and struggle doesn't have to mean death, I should hope, but I'll add some Plath to my reading list.

Your mess?
