A break from the city is a great thing.

Recently I went to my sister's in Colorado for Thanksgiving. Being away from the city and surrounded by my family was wonderful. Lately, as my past few posts have mentioned, the city has been taking a tole on me. Its fast pace, impatience, and impersonal nature has been force feeding those qualities into my own nature. Yeah, getting out of the NYC area really brought back much of the peace for me too. I am really looking forward to Philly this weekend too. But I'm really going to have to get away for longer than a weekend sometime. I just don't know when.

*grin* I have the opposite problem. Whenever I leave a large city, I get antsy, irritable, tense and snappish. But to each their own. :)

Hah, thats interesting. Did you grow up in a large city? I grew up in the country so I guess deep down its what I'm used to.

Yep. Los Angeles. Rather, born in Pittsburgh, moved to LA at 2, moved to New York at 18. When I go see my grandparents in Arkansas, I'm relaxed for about a day, and then I start to go slowly insane.

Hah, I love the contrasting pictures. They personify all the characteristics of each place. You know, if I'm back home for too long I do start to get restless but thats mostly because I don't have anything to do. You can sit around and do nothing for only so long no matter where you are.
