Because LJ has been around for years, is now one of the old established blogging platforms of the Internet, it's not just some little start up hence my utter shock and disbelief!

Their T&C's were last revised in December last year, and given that LJ has changed hands at least once you'd think they would have had /some/ comprehensive review.
