LJ's continuing and blatant disregard for its users

Wow, LJ, you've really gone and done it this time, haven't you? Tell me, do you ever plan on actually learning from your mistakes?

Any remaining LJ users who are finally fed up due to LJ's latest fail should know that for the rest of the year, creating a Dreamwidth account will not require an invite code.

What has LJ done now? Is Dreamwidth paid only or do they have free accounts as well?

Free accounts to Dreamwith usually need an invite code, but until the end of the year you can open an account without one. (For a paid subscription to Dreamwidth you never need an invite code

I left a comment about this change in the feedback on LJ news... not helping people stay, that's for sure *cough* D:

A commenter in the releases entry (see above) suggested that LJ staff are actually double agents working for Dreamwidth :D
