I would soak it in hot hot water and antibacterial soap to kill any buggies. Do you have a dishwasher at your house? Cuz you could do what i said before to get the initial yuckies out, then bring it home and run it through a dishwasher. Either that, or you'll just want to scrub the absolute hell out of it. :)

Let us remember that in our WWYRHIYM polls, more people said they would rather have fire ants than fridge mold in their mouths.

This is how i clean my nalgene's. Works extremely well.

First wash it out with soap and water. Scrub it out with a brush. The perfect brush is actually a baby bottle brush. They are cheap, jst a couple of bucks.

Let it dry.

Then go to the old people area of a cvs or wal-mart, and pick up a box of effervescent Denture Cleaner.

No I'm not kidding.

For a 32 oz. Nalgene I use 2 tablets of denture cleaner. I buy the cheap Equate mint flavored brand from wal-mart usually.

Rinse out, then let dry.

The denture cleaner gets rid of any after taste of the soap. also helps to clean. I mean hell, its designed to get crap off of dentures, so... You can't taste the "mint" flavor either once it dries.

that's a great idea!!!

but another issue...

it's a camelpak type of water bottle. it has one of those blue squeeze tops that you suck the water out of....and i think there is some blackish mold in that too. and there's a straw in the bottle too.

haha i had to use the effervescent stuff when i had to clean my retainers back in the day.
