Before I left Kerikeri, I tried to get my tire replaced but they didn’t have the right size. I had made a reservation for a swim with the dolphins trip in the Bay of Islands but the weather was bad enough that they cancelled the trip, so I drove down to Kawakawa and got my spare replaced there. Once that was done, I headed to the Bay of Islands

That really sucks that you did not have your glasses on. I know how much it sucks not being able to see. But you actually get used to it after awhile and when you put them back on it's like a reawakening!

I had a snorkel mask while I was in the water on so could see a little bit but it didn't matter b/c I was so cold that I couldn't process the visual information (such a wimp, and I was so sure I'd be able to stay in longer b/c I had more body fat than all the little girls in bikinis). After we got out, the dolphins were so close to the boat, and were so big, that I didn't really suffer b/c I didn't have my glasses on.

That is true. I sometimes wonder what it would be like if I had lived before they were invented. I probably would've died young.
