however far away.
APPEARANCE Frank is pretty much an average kid. At least, he sees himself as average. Frank is of average height, average build, average everything. Not too tall, not to short at five-foot-ten. He’s not skinny, yet he’s not like ol’ Sluggie. Little by little, he’s losing all of his puppy fat. It's taken him about seven years, but he's finally at the place he wanted to be.
Frankie Baby has a round, kind face and light brown hair that is most of the time scraggly and in his eyes. He doesn’t want to charm it off though. He likes it the way it is. Frankie also has light brown eyes, which makes him believe he’s spectacularly…well, average. Although, now in his seventh year of Hogwarts, Frank is a strapping young lad. He’s also build up some GUNS because of all the extra auror training he’s done. He looks like a teenager ready to join the Wizarding world.
however long i stay.
HISTORY Frank comes from a very long and very old line of Longbottoms. His family is pureblooded and dates waaaay back. Frank was born on April 19th, 1959, to Augusta and Preston Longbottom. He is an only child. As a youngin’, little Frank showed many signs of magical powers, including a memorable outing in which he had a tantrum because he couldn’t play in the mud (His good clothes would get dirty!) and turned his mother’s green dress to a lovely shade of mauve. Instead of being angry, Augusta yelled for her husband and they both were very excited. Frank was baffled and upset because rather than being allowed to play in the mud, he was shown around to all his uncles and aunts. Uncle Algie was particularly thrilled.
In Frank’s first year of school he was very nervous, clumsy, and a laughingstock. As he grew older, Frank became more and more accustomed to himself and less anxious all the time. He was sorted into Gryffindor, unsurprisingly, and shared a dorm along with the Prewett brothers (their sister Molly had already graduated a couple years before and married Artie Weasley, one of Frank‘s older friends. Artie and Frank were pretty close because they could both understand that the other was a total dork about random thing like they were. Artie liked Plugs, Frank liked plants.) and Edgar Bones. All of them decided by fifth year that they wanted to be Aurors and each took the same courses. Each would go on to join the original Order of the Phoenix.
When Frank told Professor McGonagall of what he wanted to do, she was unsure at first. He proved to her that he could do it by concentrating on his work and getting much better grades. She was very impressed and allowed him to take the courses necessary, and owled his mother at home who, again, showed all the family about what her Frankie was doing with his life. She and Preston were young when the dark wizard Grindlewald was at his peak, and were both very excited that Frank might end up doing the same thing as the famed Dumbledore.
In Frank’s second year he met a small Gryffindor girl named Alice with blonde and shining eyes. He was immediately smitten with her and the two of them became good friends, although Alice seemed to have different interests in boys and Frank was always too shy. He tripped up over his words whenever they talked about things like that. But they remained close all through school. In his seventh year, Frank finally declared his love for her, and the two of them have been going steady since. It was a real shock for Frank to find out that Alice had liked him, too - and it was a real boost to his self-confidence and ego. He has never felt more in love.
With a job at the ministry, interning in the Auror's office and the offical Tea Brewer for the Aurors when in the break room, it's difficult for Frank to balance everything he must do and to make time for himself to relax. He knows that he gets slightly peeved when he doesn't see Alice every day, and it bothers him that his schedule is always so filled and busy. Frank shares a flat in London with Kingsley Shacklebolt, a fellow auror-in-training and in charge of acquiring biscuits for the Aurors. He likes his flat, his piece of independence, even if it's very small and Kingsley desperately needs for everything to be clean and precise constantly.
UPDATES Frank and Alice are married, and have moved into their own flat. Frank is a year away from becoming a full-fledged auror.
whatever words i say.
PERSONALITY Frank is a kind person. At first he was shy and had low self-esteem, stemming from his constant failures in his classes and his belief that he just could not do anything right. Though, as he's progressed, he's gotten better in his work, and now takes the courses that he needs in order to graduate. He wanted to be an auror, and because of that he worked his arse off in order to get into the program. He did, much to his and his mother's glee.
With good friends and a positive attitude most of the time, Frank is socially balanced. He is likeable enough, most of his teachers notice that he is trying his best, and Professor McGonagall is especially proud of one of her own Gryffindors. Liked by everyone in his own house, Frank is friendly to almost everyone he meets. He likes Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws, although he doesn't always talk to them as much, and naturally, he can't stand Slytherins. But that's just the Gryffindor part of him. He will always stand up to defend someone the best he can, and knows a fair few hexes as well.
Recently, Frank's father was killed, along with two of his uncles, and although the papers said it was from muggleborns, he finds it hard to believe. It's very suspicious, and it's driven Frank to want to try harder to do what's right. He wants to crack down and get rid of all the bad things in his life, for his family and for his friends. The Longbottom family is strong, and are always looking on the bright side of things. Frank is determined to be there for his mum.
Though he would never admit this to anyone, Frank has a secret affinity for Herbology. He hosts his own garden at home during the summer holidays, planting all sorts of flora and taking personal pride in watching them grow. Orchids are his favorite flower, and he has no less than five different types in his garden. He's patient enough with everything, but sometimes he adds some magical fertilizer to speed up the process, even by just a little.
**RIGHT NOW:
Right now, Frank Longbottom is an Auror, first year, recent graduate. He and Kingsley Shacklebolt both passed the program with flying colours, and have started doing actual field work, rather than just making tea and fetching things for other aurors. Work is going fine, although now that the current climate has changed, the area around the Ministry has constricted, and as a result, there is a lot more stress on Aurors, Hit Wizards, and basically everyone involved. Frank has been going through quite a bit of stress, and he can say the same for his wife of over a year now, Alice, who is becoming an Auror as well. She is a year behind Frank, but by everyone's standards, she shows great promise.
Earlier in the year, Alice became pregnant. Frank, of course, ran around like an idiot for days and told absolutely everyone he could about how his wife was pregnant with his baby, until well after anyone could stand it any longer and told him to please shut up about his wife. Frank didn't care, though. He was blissfully happy, his wife was pregnant, they were making it in the world, making names for themselves, and all seemed well.
Until Frank and Alice combined efforts to put a Death Eater in Azkaban and rightfully piss off the Dark Lord Voldemort. That was when the man first learned of the name Longbottom (knowing, of course, that they were a family of bloodtraitors), and first understood that the Aurors in the Ministry could be a real threat. After sending more Death Eaters to do his bidding, watching as they ultimately failed as Frank and Alice both defeated them together, Voldemort was even angrier. The Longbottoms had defended themselves, and they had defied his will. Bad Things were sure to come.
Less than a month later, Alice had a misscarriage. The both of them mourned for a long, long time, and up until very recently, Alice would not allow Frank, nor anyone else, to touch her. Although, things are seemingly getting better. But, most assuredly, as of right now, both Frank and Alice are aware of the very real trouble that the Wizarding World faces.
