“Straight Edge” Kids Straight edge is basically living a clean life without drugs, drinking, casual sex, etc. This is something someone decides for themselves and it doesn’t necessarily make you better or worse than anyone else. Living morally is cool, but being too uptight isn’t. Not everyone wants to be a monk, so why not have fun? Most kids give in to this way of life once they hit their late teens anyway. Recently this has become a trend, which I’m sure many parents are happy about!
Gay Marriages Personally, due to the fact that I am Catholic, I believe that marriage should be a bond between a man and a woman. I am not a homophobe and I see nothing wrong with two people that love each other to live together, yet to us Christians, marriage is a sacrament for individuals of the opposite sex. If marriage between two people of the same sex should occur, it should be done in a civil manner, and not in the Church. I can understand why people would see nothing wrong with gay marriages, but because of the manner in which I have been raised I lean toward its opposition.
Animal Cruelty This is a topic that really gets me started. I don’t care if someone happens to not like animals or what not, but animal cruelty is wrong beyond belief, no matter what the case may be. I am an animal person, and the way in which some animals are being treated now-a-days really upsets me. This is one of those things that I have had to stand for many times because people sometimes don’t realize the wrongdoing they take part in.
Abortion This is a very difficult topic to discuss. I think one would have to be put in a pregnant girl’s shoes to really know what their opinion would be. Abortion is in fact murder, something unacceptable; therefore, I stand against it for the most part. On the other hand, it would be unfair for a teenage girl who got raped to have to throw away her life for something that was not even her fault, yet for this there is the option of adoption. I believe that the only time in which abortion should be taken in consideration is if there is any chance that the mother would die while giving birth.
Interracial Relationships What’s wrong with them? Prejudice is something I cannot stand. Whether someone is white, black, Asian, or Hispanic should not affect the pureness of love in a relationship. People should be able to love whomever they wish, no matter the race.
The Death Penalty I stand firmly against it, though I know that if the wrongs had been done to someone dear to me, I would want to kill the person who performed these wrongs myself. Taking someone’s life for something they did is just as bad as what they did, not to mention hypocritical. It is not our responsibility to take the gift of life of someone else. A life sentence in jail is a much harsher punishment in my eyes than the death sentence anyway. Who wants to be rotting in prison their whole life? I’d rather die!

Hobbies//interests I’m very much into sports. I enjoy reading and writing. I listen to music all day and entertain myself by looking up lyrics. I go out a lot on weekends, hang out with my friends, go to the movies and the beach, etc. Traveling is always fun. Meeting new people is one of my favorites.
