Covering the failed peace talks in the middle east had kept Lois away during the Holiday, something she was not happy with but it came with the international journalist gig. She had come to accept long ago that she was going to be devoting chunks of her life to the job ( ... )

Thirty minutes later, the chicken was slightly dry despite Clark's best efforts, and the drinks were getting a bit warm. "Any time now." he said to himself. The luck of him not getting called away on an emergency was starting to push itself.

"Sorry I'm late!"

Her apology was called out even as she stepped through the front door. Lois dropped off her bag in the entry, her coat dumped off on top of it. No need for it now that she was home.
She unwound her scarf and left i in her wake as she moved through the apartment in search of her husband.
"Clark?
Normally he was right there when she got in, unless he was 'working.' At last Lois made her way in to the dining room, her breath caught in her throat.
"....oh...Clark."
Her smile was a mile wide and there was n chance of it fading soon.

Clark walked in and smiled. He's...not one to hold a grudge. "So, Ms. Pulitzer, how many "u"s are in dumbstruck?"
