From the good old days when banks simply used to occasionally lose several billions through a rogue trader:

'rude, lazy, arrogant bastard' I wonder what they say about Americans.
I also wonder what right the English think they have to say these sorts of things about other nationalities. I recently met an Englishman who complained that the French were not patent enough when he spoke their language poorly. Well if you don't use the pronunciation or vocabulary approved of by by the English you risk being told off or even shouted at.
I am so glad I live in France now. Even in a city so small where everyone in a room turns to look when they hear a foreign language, just about nobody insults me because of my nationality. Far from being rude the French have been very welcoming.
But they do strike at the drop of a hat, I have to give you that.

both surprised and pleased to hear from you! how the devil are you? it's been several years, surely? i won't ask for a life summary here and now, as i'm sure a hell of a lot has happened, however it goes without saying that as and when you next find yourself in London then a catchup would be greatly enjoyed.
cheers!

I have had a lot of time on my hands because I am still waiting for permission to work so I was just trolling through past posts. I hope you understand that while I find that particularity article annoying I don't hold it against you. You never said anything questionable the whole time I have known you. Finally Americans are the best when it comes to French bashing. Makes me sad.

Next time I am in London I will definitely drop you a line.
